Communications Manager

The Township is seeking an innovative and skilled ambassador for the Township who is passionate about public service, marketing / branding and communications. The Communications Manager is a part of a dynamic team who collaborates with internal and external customers to oversee communications to the community.

The Communications Manager serves as a consultant on public relations to the Township Board of Trustees, Township Administrator and Fire Chief; and, is essentially the face and voice of the Township. The Communications Manager connects the community with safety services and ensures information is accurate and timely.

The Communication Manager will have working experience with all social media outlets and websites, has the ability to develop professional working relationships with local media and expertise in strategic communications.

Ideally, the Communication Manager will possess a Master’s Degree in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or related field from an accredited college or university with (5) or more years’ experience in a similar area; however, a Bachelor’s Degree in the same discipline is required.

Part-Time Firefighters

We continuously accept applications for part-time firefighters. To be considered for a part-time firefighter position, when a position is available, follow these steps:

  1. Review the Part-time firefighter (PDF) job description.
  2. Complete and submit the Township’s Personal History Questionnaire (PDF). Submit the application to Catherine Grossman at 6200 Eiterman Road, Dublin Ohio 43016 or email it in .pdf format to cgrossman@wtwp.com.
  3. Schedule and complete a test through the National Testing Network, Inc. You may take the test prior to earning your Ohio 240 Fire Card or EMT Basic card, but you will be required to have earned both prior to being appointed to a part time firefighter position. Before taking the test, review the information on this site about the testing process and take advantage of the practice tests. Tests are offered multiple times a week, including Saturdays. Once your test is completed, your scores will be automatically sent to Washington Township. Candidates who earn a passing score on the exam will be placed on the department’s eligibility list. Washington Township will invite those who are eligible to participate in other stages of the selection process.
